Our Team
Our team are our most important commodity at Emma's Angels. We employ a multi skilled staff team from different background's but whom have the same aim, to provide your child with the best possible start in life. We strongly promote continuous professional development for all our employee's, they attend both regular in house and external training, to broaden they knowledge and skills in caring for children.
Our Management Team are:
Emma Dewhirst, Owner and Manager. Emma has worked at the setting for the past twenty four years and has owned the setting for sixteen years. She is qualified to degree level and is passionate about offering a family environment. Emma is one of the Safeguarding and behaviour management leads.
Emma Holden, EYFS Manager/Nursery Lead. Emma joined the team in July 2021 and worked alongside our current EYFS Manager to ensure a smooth handover in this crucial role before she left. Emma has over 20 years experience of working in nurseries and is qualified to degree level. Emma brings a wealth of knowledge to the management team. Emma is also one of our Safeguarding leads and SENDCO.
Emma Kenyon, Third in Charge and Baby Room Manager. Emma joined the team over 8 years ago as a level 3 practitioner. Emma now helps support the management team as third in the charge alongside her baby room role. Emma is also one of our safeguarding leads. Emma has achieved her Level 5, Senior Practitioner qualification.
Gemma Aktinson, Forest School and Well-being Manager. Gemma joined our team ten years ago as our Pre-school room lead, her role soon developed into our first EYFS Manager role. Gemma re-joined our team after leaving us to have a baby and became our Forest School lead, embedding the forest school ethos into Emma's Angels and running our nursery and out of school sessions. Gemma is a qualified teacher and Forest School Level 3.
Each of our rooms has a Room Manager and Senior Early Year's Practitioner. The Room Manager's and the senior staff are experienced staff who are passionate about their room and the roles they play. We also have a variety of other qualified and unqualified staff. Some of our staff will also be working towards their qualifications, in apprentice roles.
From September 2020 we have fully embedded the forest school's ethos, lead by our Forest School Lead and her deputy. Out Forest School lead, leads sessions throughout the week across the whole setting, including our out of school club.
From September 2023 we have expanded the forest school provision and we now offer it from our babies, right through to our out of school children. Including yoga and mindfulness to support our children's mental health.
